a delicious weekend

culinary adventures from this weekend included:

buddakan - giant feast with shanna's fam. very grandiose decor, i think we ordered every dish on the menu, or close to it. red snapper, shrimp and lollipop meat balls were among the highlights. the over-the-top-ness of the website give you a sense of the over-the-top-ness of the restaurant.

gazpacho made by emily - i'm always impressed by how good her gazpacho is. i've made it before, and i like my version, but somehow its not in the same league.

pain aux raisins from les ambassades. these things are seriously addictive.

orbit - burger and beer. mike tyson title fight from 1986 on tv, later switched to cavs celtics game. this is a very cozy space, maybe a bit overpriced for the neighborhood (116th and 1st), but still a nice place to spend an evening.

fresh tamarind from the korean market up on 125th.
